GOLD MEDAL: Gilbert & Gaillard 93 POINTS: Wine Direct Tasting Team
"Deep-hued with dark purple and crimson tints. Compelling nose intermixing red fruits, stone fruits and a subtle herbal edge. The palate is fairly firm with weight and a lovely crunchy fruit dimension and freshness. Will keep." - Gilbert & Gaillard
Bordeaux is one of the world's largest and most famous winemaking regions, producing wines that range from 'everyday drinking' to some of the most luxurious, exotic, and expensive on the planet! Chateau Le Colombier is a perfect everyday drinker, classic example of medium bodied, easy drinking Claret!
We've been fans of their Syrah and Chardonnay for some time and this is another go-to product we'll add to the list.
Light in colour, but plenty of depth and flavour and pleasingly dry.
Highly recommended.
I haven’t tried every bottle in this selection yet, however, so far they are all very tasty. I’m a Chardonnay lover, always on the look out for a dryish not sweet wine and these are just right for me. An excellent mixed case and we’ll priced.
This was a very nice surprise in Wine Direct’s very welcome Plenty Under $20 category. Beautifully fruity, rich and smooth. Often the Plenty Under $20 range is a little light for the depth I like but I will definitely be reordering this one.
A great summer wine… elegant and a fine balance of lighter fruit and delicate acidity with a nice dry finish. Very drinkable with or without food. A nice change from our usual unoaked French Chardonnay
