"A wonderful rendition, the fragrant bouquet shows golden apple, fig and green rockmelon characters with a flinty overtone. The palate offers excellent weight and saline texture, wonderfully framed by beautifully pitched acidity, finishing attractively dry and persistent. At its best: now to 2037"
- Sam Kim

"A lovely bouquet, distinctive and ‘classic’ filled with scents of wet chalk and baked apples, fresh pomaceous fruit too with a sweet pear idea, then a soft lees and floral highlight. Delicious on the palate with a satin texture, plenty of acidity, freshness and vibrato in the acid line. The lees and mineral qualities are persistent and highlight the finish, which is lengthy and complex. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2030+."

"A fresh, minerally delight! You know it's good because there's so many descriptors. Citrus, grapefruit, apple blossom, orange peel, flint aromas all leading to a seductive mouthfeel. Lemons and limes, apple and onto a lingering flinty minerality on the finish. Stunning!"

Les Lys is the lovely expression of Vouvray, made by the dynamic Caves de Vouvray, which is an incredibly forward-thinking, modern and quality-conscious co-operative. It was formed in 1947 and now produces an array of wines from a multitude of Loire Valley appellations. Grown on clay-limestone terroir and overlooking the Loire River - bright and mineral driven, this is a classic style of "Sec" Vouvray perfect with seafood, Asian dishes, salads, and on its own!

This is serious Vouvray and for a fraction of the price of the big boys - grab some while it lasts!

A great summer wine… elegant and a fine balance of lighter fruit and delicate acidity with a nice dry finish. Very drinkable with or without food. A nice change from our usual unoaked French Chardonnay
