94 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2023
4.5/5 STARS: Yvonne Lorkin, Jul 2023

"Richly fruited and elegantly complex, the wine shows golden peach, poached pear, fig and floral aromas on the nose, leading to a splendidly weighted palate offering ripe fruit intensity with creamy texture and juicy acidity. Beautifully balanced and supple with a sustained silky finish. Certified organic" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2023

"I love it when pinot gris comes packing some spice and perky acidity- so you can imagine my hand-clappy, jumpy, joy when I first tasted this new release from the fine folk at Rock Ferry who make Bendigo Hills. Delicously dry and showing quartzy minerality, this gris has fresh nashi and peach notes, a hint of spiced quince, fresh apple strudel and a long, zesty finish. Stylish, cleansing and a new fave" Yvonne Lorkin, Jul 2023

Generous aromas of Central Otago apricots, gentle hay & roasted nuts; the wine has an intensely concentrated flavoursome & silky palate and a lovely linear acidity, complemented by a savoury spiciness.

Our aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit we can so it can speak of its home and express its personality. To do this you need healthy vines and soil. As with all Plus & Minus brand wines, this delightful Pinot Grigio is made with grape seed extract that's full of naturally occurring antioxidants. That's a definite "plus". The "minus" comes from the removal of alcohol.

Only the highest quality grapes from premium, dry grown South Australian vineyards are used to craft this non-alcoholic white wine which means that a full-bodied, vibrant flavour lives on even as the alcohol is removed.

Aromas of apple, pear and citrus will greet you from the very first sip. You may even experience a hint of floral characters. A true balance of sweetness and acidity will keep you coming back for more!

"It's delightfully fruited and elegantly fragrant with rockmelon, green pear and lemon zest aromas with a hint of ginger spice. The palate is equally attractive with lovely fruit purity combined with fleshy texture and juicy acidity, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2027"

Eradus are not a one trick pony! Yes, they do make an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc but they do a lovely Pinot Gris too. The vines are now 16 years old and deliver a wine with great concentration and a real juiciness in a fresh and dry style with a portion barrel aged to add textural richness. Serious wine for under $20! Lifted floral and white peach notes leading to delicious flavours of red apple, pear, white peach with a hint of spice and that Awatere Valley flinty minerality. In Essential Awatere fashion the finish is lively, crisp and lingering. A delicious wine that brings together “new world” fruit and “old world” elegance and minerality.

Eradus Pinot Gris vines grow on a slender terrace at the edge of the Awatere River, with a unique microclimate and soil structure. Influenced by a fault line, a river, and the power of the nearby Pacific Ocean, our land is stony, dry, windy and cool, elements that create wines of elegance, minerality with a lively and lingering finish. We let the untameable terroir of the Awatere Valley express itself through our vines, grapes and ultimately wines.

Refined, streamlined fruit notes and an underlying wild complexity. Notes of yellow apples, crisp pears, quince jelly, cool spice, and cinnamon are juxtaposed with hints of yeast autolysis, flint, and jasmine. The entry into the palate is soft but fresh and meets the aromatics with style. The finish is vibrant leaving both a sense of sweetness in the front palate and perk on the finish. Drink now but will age beyond its expectations.

"This smells just like apple-flavoured gummy sweets. Cheerful PG, ripe green-apple fruit with a touch of bitter almond at the back palate to give it some dimension."
     - Jancis Robinson (previous vintage review)

"Fruit-focused, off-dry Pinot Gris with pear, ripe apple, quince and root ginger flavours. A creamy-textured wine with an appealingly lengthy finish. Good value at this price."
