100% Chardonnay Vine Age 55 years
"Grown on 55+ year old vines this Chablis is very flattering, with a strikingly expressive nose. Creamy, round & with a full mouthfeel, this is well-structured, with a classic underlying minerality, that could only have been produced in Chablis. Made by the youngest 'rising star' of the Dampt wine-making family, this wine pairs particularly well with roasted lobster and chicken breast!" — Wine Direct Tasting Team
"Delightful pale lemon and lime. Some elegance to the nose. Not very extrovert at this stage. More length and less mineral is Vincent’s view of Léchet, in contrast to Vaillons. Good body, white fruit wanting to emerge but there is still a limey framework." — Jasper Morris MW
We've been fans of their Syrah and Chardonnay for some time and this is another go-to product we'll add to the list.
Light in colour, but plenty of depth and flavour and pleasingly dry.
Highly recommended.
I haven’t tried every bottle in this selection yet, however, so far they are all very tasty. I’m a Chardonnay lover, always on the look out for a dryish not sweet wine and these are just right for me. An excellent mixed case and we’ll priced.
This was a very nice surprise in Wine Direct’s very welcome Plenty Under $20 category. Beautifully fruity, rich and smooth. Often the Plenty Under $20 range is a little light for the depth I like but I will definitely be reordering this one.
A great summer wine… elegant and a fine balance of lighter fruit and delicate acidity with a nice dry finish. Very drinkable with or without food. A nice change from our usual unoaked French Chardonnay
