Domaine Pernot Belicard Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Champs Gain' 2017
92 POINTS: Robert Parker's - The Wine Advocate
"The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet is very impressive, revealing lovely aromas of waxy lemon rind, mandarin, dried white flowers and a subtle touch of musky peach on the upper register. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, glossy and textural, with a fleshy, dramatic core of fruit underpinned by an attractive line of animating acidity, concluding with a saline finish. This is a front-loaded but serious Champ Canet that should offer a broad drinking window."

Domaine Pernot Belicard is a rising star in Burgundy, based in Puligny-Montrachet and quickly earning a reputation for precise, mineral-driven wines of exceptional finesse. The domaine was established when Philippe Pernot, grandson of Paul Pernot, joined forces with his wife’s family vineyards, combining heritage holdings with a modern, quality-focused approach. Since 2009, Philippe has been gradually refining viticulture and winemaking, reducing yields, extending lees aging, and dialing back new oak use. The result is a range of wines—from Bourgogne Côte d’Or to prestigious Puligny premiers crus—that consistently punch above their weight, offering purity, tension, and terroir expression in every bottle.
