GOLD MEDAL: Concours de Vin Elle Table
GOLD MEDAL: Gilbert & Gaillard

"Like the Roc de Binet this is a classic, modern-style St.-Emilion. From vineyards located approx. 9 km north of Saint-Emilion there is plenty of ripe-blackberry and subtle, herbal notes, married together with silky tannins and fresh acidity.  With 5 years bottle age this is good to go."
- Wine Direct Tasting Team

Located north of the Saint-Émilion appellation areas, Lussac Saint-Émilion benefits from a propitious microclimate for growing wine with moderate rainfall and warm summer temperatures. The vines grow in mainly clayey limestone soils. In Lussac, the vineyards populate an amphitheatre of south-facing plateaux and valleys, which promotes good natural drainage. They cover a total area of 1,450 hectares (3,580 acres) north of the Saint-Émilion hill, and produce practically 72,000 hectolitres of wine annually. Lussac Saint-Émilion wines are blends with a majority of Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc.

With St Emilion pricing where it's currently at more and more Bordeaux lovers are turning to the sensational value offered from the satellite appellations. This is a no brainer in our view.
