Verdejo is an aromatic white from Spain, most notably Rueda. It has the potential to make very high quality wines which is why it is undergoing something of a renaissance at the moment after having languished in obscurity for generations. It has many similarities with Sauvignon Blanc; plenty of herby, grassy notes and goes a little bit nutty with age. It blends well with Viura and also Sauvignon Blanc where it's often used to add body and richness to Sauvignon's aromatic lift. Its finest manifestations tend to be from Rueda Superior, which must contain a minimum of 85% Verdejo.
Lovely ready now dry red. What You expect from down that way with no rough edges and just enough tannin to give it some grunt. Very good value at this price.
Have been buying this wine for years (and years). Consistently delivers a beautiful, savoury rhone wine experience. Definitely punches above its weight. Deep garnet, full bodied, leathery with light spice notes.
Dark, medium to full bodied, with mature flavours starting to evolve. Excellent value, typical Bordeaux wine. Could easily become our house favourite! Delivers very good value for the price.
