The Premier Cru Vau de Vey vines cling on to a very steep slope. Located on the left bank of the Serein River and facing East, this terroir gives us rich and delicate wines with a marked minerality.
"The 2022 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru has a nicely detailed bouquet of wet stone intermixed with subtle orchard fruit aromas. It takes a few swirls of the glass to find its groove. The palate is fresh and saline on the entry, with modest depth and hints of orange rind and sea salt towards the finish. This bides its time, unfurling with each swirl but retaining control on the finish." — 92 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous
We've been fans of their Syrah and Chardonnay for some time and this is another go-to product we'll add to the list.
Light in colour, but plenty of depth and flavour and pleasingly dry.
Highly recommended.
I haven’t tried every bottle in this selection yet, however, so far they are all very tasty. I’m a Chardonnay lover, always on the look out for a dryish not sweet wine and these are just right for me. An excellent mixed case and we’ll priced.
This was a very nice surprise in Wine Direct’s very welcome Plenty Under $20 category. Beautifully fruity, rich and smooth. Often the Plenty Under $20 range is a little light for the depth I like but I will definitely be reordering this one.
A great summer wine… elegant and a fine balance of lighter fruit and delicate acidity with a nice dry finish. Very drinkable with or without food. A nice change from our usual unoaked French Chardonnay
