Cuvar Guardians Hawkes Bay Rosé 2023
90 POINTS: Cam Douglas MS
4 STARS: Gavin Hubble, Grape-to-Glass
"Aromas and flavours of peach and raspberry tea, layers of berry and some mineral lees qualities add breadth as the wine touches the palate. Crisp and just dry with core fruit flavours of orchard fruits and fruit tea, a nice line of acidity and a light chalky mouthfeel from fruit tannins accentuated through the acid line."

"In your glass, you are greeted by a soft orange summer sunset with shimmering reflections, that tease you with a thoughtful aroma of watermelon, wild strawberries and a deft sage note. This engaging style of rosé has a lovely textural detail across the fleshy and appealing palate giving a stealth structure to this well-crafted rosé wine.....balanced by natural fruit acidity...with a smooth, clean dry finish."

Despite a complicated start to vintage, Cuvar's Cornerstone Vineyard on Gimblett Gravels managed to shine and its Cabernet Franc ripened to its full potential.
The variety is known for making elegant Rosé and this is no exception with a bouquet of pink peppercorns and creaming soda it is a beautifully rounded wine. Natural fruit acidity gives it length while fruit weight bestows a graceful and smooth finish to the palate.
