Weingut Wittmann Spätburgunder Trocken 2022
93 POINTS: Stuart Pigott - James Suckling
94 POINTS: Wine Direct Tasting Team
"The 2022 Estate Spätburgunder trocken opens with a pure, fresh and spicy nose of ripe sour cherries and berries. Almost light yet juicy and with a silky texture on the palate, this is an elegant and well-balanced, stimulating transparent and fresh Pinot with fine tannins and ripe acidity and a tart yet aromatic finish."
- Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate
The Wittmanns and their ancestors have been wine-growers in the old market town of Westhofen, in southern Rheinhessen; the first documented instance of viticulture in the family dates from 1663. Today’s estate developed from this long tradition over the course of centuries. Philipp Wittmann, his wife Eva Clüsserath-Wittmann and Philipp’s parents, Günter and Elisabeth, share the task of running their 25-hectare estate. We love these guys and can’t recommend their wines enough. Very limited stocks.
