Chateau Grand Moulin Grandes Vignes Corbieres Red 2022

"This is another knock-out effort; rich, silky and moreish - like the white Corbières, you might not be able to stop. A classic blend of Carignan, Syrah, Grenache & Mourvèdre - there is plenty of ripe red & black fruits with a herby overlay, everything we love in the sun kissed wines from this part of Southern France.  This is also another example, if you needed one of the incredible value these wines offer. I doubt there is anything produced in the southern hemisphere that can complete with these wines in terms of bang for your bucks.  Highly recommended."

"A pronounced red colour. A fresh nose of ripe red fruits. A delicious and nicely fruity palate, with a full and round texture."
 - Cam Douglas MS

This wine comes from terroir of the river terraces 20m above of the Orbieu river, in Lézignan-Corbières.  The middle terrace is a deposit of materials left by the floods during the great glaciations. It has an irregular stoniness: layers of pebbles can give way to clays or silts. The soil is deep and fertile where the vines can sink deep roots. The Grandes Vignes are located on plots of land managed with environmentally friendly viticulture. They offer a modern, fruit-focused Corbières. We love them!

"This producer has been one of my best discoveries in the three years I've been reviewing Languedoc wines for RPWA."
 - Joe Czerwinski; Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate

The history of Château Grand Moulin begins in 1985 when Jean-Noël Bousquet left working in a Co-op with a vision to make great wine. He set up his private cellar on the site of an old mill in Lézignan, in the heart of Corbières in Languedoc. Since then, his son Frédéric has taken over and offers a wide range of great Corbières wines, offering all the richness and diversity of the estate’s different terroirs. The Château Grand Moulin estate has over 200 plots of vines spread over 130 hectares, across 5 municipalities all within a radius of 10km. They have been recognized for their high-quality potential and classified as Corbières AOC and Corbières Boutenac AOC. They cultivate the region's classic grapes, namely Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Cinsault for the red wines, and Vermentino, Grenache, and Roussanne for the white.
