''The Maretti Langhe Rosso remains one of my favourite current drops, as always overdelivering quality wine for price. If you love the flavours of Piedmont this is a must try'' - Al Pope - Wine Direct's Resident Italian Wine Nut
"Fragrant, lifted fruits of the forest overlaid by notes of dried herbs, some leather and aniseed. This is a medium weight wine, very well balanced with plush fruit character, sandy tannins and a lovely fresh clip of acidity delivering excellent Italian drinkability. This is a very approachable wine that will match brilliantly with food as well being great on its own. The perfect pasta or pizza wine." - Winemakers Notes
Piedmont, nestled in the foothills of the Alps in northwest Italy, is renowned for producing the country's finest and most prestigious red wines from the Nebbiolo grape. However, a quality bottle of Barolo or Barbaresco can set you back anywhere from $100 to $1,000 and may require decades to reach its peak. The Maretti Langhe Rosso, a blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo, captures the essence of the region while offering a more approachable, fruit-forward style that’s ready to enjoy now. If you're looking to break out of a ‘flavour rut’ and explore new, exciting tastes and textures, this is a wine we highly recommend.
I was happily surprised by the quality of the labels in the "mystery" case of rose wines - great value for the money I must say. Excellent drinking experience from the unfamiliar labels and happy to enjoy again the familiar ones.
