The 2022 Chianti Classico from Castello di Fonterutoli shows off the house style with polish and depth. Aromas of black cherry, violet, and dried herbs leap from the glass, followed by flavours of ripe red berries, hints of tobacco, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and bright acidity, it’s beautifully balanced and finishes with a savory edge. A wine that’s both elegant and versatile—ready to drink now or age over the next few years.

"The Mazzei family has made considerable strides honing the identity of the estate’s three distinct UGA bottlings. This is not, however, to the detriment of the annata. A flagbearer for the denomination, it hails from seven different sites between 220 and 570 metres. The 2022 shines brightly with dark red cherry underscored by mint, tarragon and nutmeg. Zesty, concentrated acidity sparks the palate, while polished tannins give a subtle gratifying chew. Clean, sleek and well-proportioned with plenty of flavour appeal."
- Decanter Magazine

With over 600 years of winemaking heritage, Castello di Fonterutoli is one of the most historic and respected estates in all of Tuscany. Owned by the Mazzei family since 1435, this iconic producer crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines from the rolling hills near Castellina in Chianti. Fonterutoli’s vineyards span a patchwork of high-altitude plots across diverse soils, allowing for exceptional nuance and complexity. Their 2022 Chianti Classico is a brilliant example—polished, expressive, and deeply rooted in tradition, yet made with a modern, sustainable touch.
