"There is lovely complexity to this wine, with delicate hints of pear, almond, sage and a kiss of minerality that add to its allure. Apricot and peach stone fruits take centre stage, with supporting notes of pear adding to the wine’s excellent balance. It might be subliminal, as the tufo in Greco di Tufo refers to the compacted volcanic ash that forms the soil of this DOCG, but this wine has a real volcanic presence, you can almost taste the volcanic soil. The orchard fruit and citrus notes lie in the background on the crisp, dry palate, but it's the minerality/volcanic character that lingers."

Greco di Tufo is a grape variety with a rich history, having been introduced to the province of Avellino by the Greeks in the 1st century BC. Harvested at the close of October, the grapes for this wine are allowed to rest on their lees for a period of three months prior to bottling. The result is a wine of remarkable freshness, with a clean and crisp character that is balanced by the roundness and ripe fruit character of the warm southern Mediterranean climate. There is a fascinating complexity to this wine, with delicate hints of pear, almond, sage and a kiss of minerality that add to its allure. Apricot and peach stone fruits take centre stage, with supporting notes of pear adding to the wine’s excellent balance.
