Laird has been making apple brandies since 1780 and this latest bottling harks back to the times before pesky Prohibition, when its straight applejack was produced at 86 proof. Created from a revival of the historic recipe, Laird Straight Applejack 86 is a 100% apple brandy that contains 17 pounds (as in weight, not sterling) worth of apples in a single bottle.
While perfect consumed neat or over ice, it truly shines when used in place of whiskey in traditional cocktails like the Manhattan and Old Fashioned. The warm, full flavors with overtones of baked apples, caramel and wood from this aged apple brandy give an extra dimension of complexity and body to cocktails.
It is a great wine to drink. Always great to taste a fabulous chardonnay. Hope you can bring the Domaine Collotte Chardonnay. It will sell like very well in New Zealand. Please advise when it is available.
For this sort of money you could buy a decent NZ chard....but this wine transcends you to a small village to the east of the Rhone on a balmy summers night...once you have been there you will want to go back again and again
Not tasted yet but have been buying this wine from Wine Direct for as long as they have been importing it .....fact is Grand Veneur only make the good stuff
