Almost gold in the glass. Dry to taste, this wine has intense green hay, mango/apple, citrus, and slightly toasty/smoky flavours along with fine, crisp acidity. Dusty spice and honeyed grapefruit, this is subtle but complex; it won't be anything like you're expecting - a Sauv to convert the masses!

Fruit from the Rapaura region indigenous wild yeast fermented in seasoned French oak barrels. Think in the same vein as Dog Point's ‘Section 94' and Cloudy Bay's ‘Te Koko'...

“It was always my intention to produce a Sauvignon Blanc that would challenge conventions. Our first release 2019, won the Champion Emerging Style Sauvignon Blanc at the inaugural Marlborough Wine Show. After another couple of vintages perfecting the technique; concentration from low vineyard yields, hand harvesting of fruit, extended maturation on yeast lees, and screwcap closure… I’m delighted that this wine is not just ‘still alive’ but rather is drinking superbly at 13 years old.  On the nose, it is vinous, complex with grapefruit and wheat biscuit aromas rather than noticeably Sauvignon. On the palate it is bone-dry, rich, and textural with remarkable freshness.”

Great drinking now

Took a punt on the 2011 Kairos Sauvignon Blanc & was pleasantly surprised at the drinkability of aged Sauv, I do not usually drink Sauvignon Blanc's but after drinking the Kairos I will drink more.
