Ripe and rich, it’s all about black fruits – mulberry and blackberry with some rum and raisin thrown in supported by older oak. The palate is then user friendly – plump, ripe and fleshy delivering good flavour and generosity for everyday drinking with a spicy meaty finish that draws you in to a second glass. It’s hard to fault for the price.
This is a lovely drop of Merlot, demonstrating the wine skills of the Languedoc Roussillon area. I holidayed in the region some years ago and loved their wines - great to see them this side of the world and available. Versatile, easy drinking. So good my neighbour has also bought a case after tasting mine!
