Oyster shell/egg white appearance; clean and pure. The peppermint core aroma is absolutely dead-on and is incredibly fresh and herbaceous. Entry flavor is sweet and viscous to the touch but the minty flavor is genuine and intensely splendid; midpalate is long, luxurious and startlingly minty. This should be the only crème de menthe that astute bartenders who care about their craft will want, for making cocktails such as a classic Grasshopper:
30ml Tempus Fugit Creme de Menthe Glaciale
30ml white creme de cacao
30ml cream
Mint
Fill a shaker with ice then pour in the liqueurs and cream. Shake hard until the outside of the cocktail shaker is cold, then strain in to a cocktail glass or small coupe. Garnish with the mint sprig.
This is very good value for money. A Piedmont red under $30! It has good dark fruit, some nice tannins and acid to balance although it would benefit from some more age to smooth it a bit but I liked its feistiness now.
I was happily surprised by the quality of the labels in the "mystery" case of rose wines - great value for the money I must say. Excellent drinking experience from the unfamiliar labels and happy to enjoy again the familiar ones.
