“Tondonia's reds have been on an upward curve recently and are now at the same level as the bodega's world-class whites. This is a fine, elegant, savoury, low-alcohol blend of Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha and 5% each of Mazuelo and Graciano, combining summer berry fruit, racy acidity, granular tannins and an earthy, balsamic undertone. Good now, but this will develop further in bottle.” - Tim Atkin MW
“A classic Rioja, yes, but one with its own beautiful, distinctive signature. Here is a wine so elegant and graceful, so silky in texture and so remarkably fresh and balanced between wild strawberry, cherry, a whiff of incense and savoury, truffle notes. Long, fine, tapering finish.” - Decanter Magazine
Lovely ready now dry red. What You expect from down that way with no rough edges and just enough tannin to give it some grunt. Very good value at this price.
Have been buying this wine for years (and years). Consistently delivers a beautiful, savoury rhone wine experience. Definitely punches above its weight. Deep garnet, full bodied, leathery with light spice notes.
Dark, medium to full bodied, with mature flavours starting to evolve. Excellent value, typical Bordeaux wine. Could easily become our house favourite! Delivers very good value for the price.
