GOLD MEDAL: Concours International du Gamay 2022 GOLD MEDAL: Concours International du Gamay 2021 93 POINTS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
A quiet revolution has recently gone ahead in Beaujolais. A series of successful vintages, old vines and a new generation of winemakers striving for perfection within their unique terroir - without the hype of a PR machine - mean Beaujolais really is the unsung hero of the Burgundy wine scene.
"Beautifully ripe and instantly appealing, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, toasted spice, thyme and smoked game notes, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate offering terrific fruit intensity backed by refreshing acidity and fine tannins, finishing persistent and sturdy." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Lovely ready now dry red. What You expect from down that way with no rough edges and just enough tannin to give it some grunt. Very good value at this price.
Have been buying this wine for years (and years). Consistently delivers a beautiful, savoury rhone wine experience. Definitely punches above its weight. Deep garnet, full bodied, leathery with light spice notes.
Dark, medium to full bodied, with mature flavours starting to evolve. Excellent value, typical Bordeaux wine. Could easily become our house favourite! Delivers very good value for the price.
