Sweet fruit notes of fresh apple, gathering with the autumnal flavours of Pittyvaich. It’s a beautifully balanced whiskey, with the delicate subtle sweetness of honeycomb and soft wood from the ghost whiskies of Port Dundas and Carsebridge. Other very rare whiskies bring aromas of dark fruit and berries before revealing gentle butterscotch, stewing orchard fruits and a dash of cinnamon.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare releases are a series of limited editions that explore the rich flavours and distinctive distillery character of selected whiskies from the Johnnie Walker Blue Label reserves. Each release offer a fleeting opportunity to savour the depth of character of whiskies from 'ghost' distilleries that have long since closed, but whose spirit still lives on in the precious liquid captured in every bottle.
We've been fans of their Syrah and Chardonnay for some time and this is another go-to product we'll add to the list.
Light in colour, but plenty of depth and flavour and pleasingly dry.
Highly recommended.
I haven’t tried every bottle in this selection yet, however, so far they are all very tasty. I’m a Chardonnay lover, always on the look out for a dryish not sweet wine and these are just right for me. An excellent mixed case and we’ll priced.
This was a very nice surprise in Wine Direct’s very welcome Plenty Under $20 category. Beautifully fruity, rich and smooth. Often the Plenty Under $20 range is a little light for the depth I like but I will definitely be reordering this one.
A great summer wine… elegant and a fine balance of lighter fruit and delicate acidity with a nice dry finish. Very drinkable with or without food. A nice change from our usual unoaked French Chardonnay
