TOPE Dual Citizen Riesling 2023
94 POINTS: Wine Pilot
18.5/20: Joelle Thompson
They both express themselves with pronounced fragrance, with overlaps – lemon, peach – but also distinctions: Dual Citizen also chalk, orange blossom and jasmine flower, while 100 Osmond presents fresh honeysuckle, lime and apricot. These fragrances set you up for glorious palates, which come alive with acid zing, chalky minerality, and silky textures. While the Dual Citizen has a salty, mouth-watering element to it, the 100 Osmond is a tad brighter and more elegant. You want to guzzle down the Dual Citizen while the 100 Osmond asks you to have a bit more patience. And the price? Get outta here. I was given an extra bottle each of these Rieslings and I intend on cellaring them for at least another five to ten years, because I
predict great things ahead for them still.”

"Fresh, vibrant and crisp with layers of citrusy lime zest. These classic dry Riesling flavours are the order of the day in this beautiful expression of dry Australian Riesling, which contains 1.2 grams of residual sugar. It is made from a 2.3 hectare, east facing vineyard in the Clare Valley where clay soils favour a high water content. This aids growing conditions in such a dry climate. It drinks beautifully now, practically begging for a citrusy, lemon grass infused Thai dish or for a decade in the cellar, which will see it blossom and unfold rich lemon flavours."

Sourced from a single vineyard high on the hills in the prestigious Armagh sub-region of the Clare Valley, this dry grown vineyard produces fruit that ripens slowly on the vine. The extended time on the vine combines the ideal micro climate and soil profile, allowing the fruit to develop the rich yet delicate flavours while retaining the bright natural acidity that is seen in this wine.
