“The Zeltinger Sonnenuhr is always somewhat overlooked by Prüm because the estate is usually associated more with the Graacher Himmelreich and the Sonnenuhr in Wehlen. Wrongly so, because Prüm's wines from here are outstanding in all predicates and have also gained in polish and finesse in recent years. Unfortunately, as always, there is very little of the Auslese. The tart drama of the Zeltinger vineyards comes through here in a magnificent way, pure and with a slightly maritime touch on the nose. Crushed mussel shells, sweet black tea, fresh grapefruit. Insanely dense, not quite reaching the finesse and delicacy of Graach or Wehlen, somewhat more powerful, more pithy in expression. Nevertheless, like all 2023s from Prüm, incredibly cool and polished, deliciously juicy and simply quaffable in the best sense of the word. What a year!”

“This fabulous Auslese lays out a whole basket of exotic fruit before you. The almost supernatural freshness is no less exciting. Terrific tension between the two, the acidity giving this great brilliance on the extremely precise, medium-bodied palate. The finish almost perfectly balances the restrained richness and intense wet-stone minerality. Limited production. Still very youthful, but how can you resist the beauty? Drink or hold.”
