E Pira-Chiara Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2021
93 POINTS: Jeb Dunnuck
RECOMMENDED: Wine Direct
100% Nebbiolo
“From Ravera in Monforte, this is made from the younger vines (that will eventually be made as Barolo) and is made the same way as Chiara’s three baroli and then aged in barriques for twelve months. As a mini Barolo, this has some serious pedigree with varietal-driven aromas, rich, plush fruits of red berries & crushed flowers. Hard to beat for the money and an affordable cellaring option to boot!”

"Wow, 2021 is showing up and this wine is a great preview! The 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo is fantastic and expressive in its exuberant notes of fresh black raspberries, crushed earth, fresh violets, and fresh spice. Medium-bodied and energetic, it also has good richness. with ripe tannins, a clean, fresh feel, and wonderful balance. It’s drinking well now, but it’s also going to hold on nicely if left in the cellar for a few years. This is going to be a fantastic vintage, and I would recommend finding some 2021 Langhe to get a glimpse of it."

"A lovely Langhe Nebbiolo - we very much like the 2020 vintage of this. Roses dominate the nose and palate, with some green pepper notes also prominent. Red berry brightness. It’s fresh and approachable with wonderful purity of fruit and surprisingly light tannins for a new release. Certainly the best edition of this wine since 2016."
