“The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Coucherais is also very charming, mingling aromas of red berries and plums with nuances of peony, rose petals, orange oil and cinnamon in an expressive bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with melting tannins, lively acids and a saline finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.”

“This is also moderately toasty with a more deeply pitched array of poached plum, cassis and earth aromas that are also trimmed in a plethora of floral elements. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the fleshy yet nicely delineated flavors that conclude in a bitter pit fruit-inflected and youthfully austere finish.”

"60% whole bunch vinification. Deep purple, with a beautiful, rich nose, floral and expressive. Not so much depth through the middle, some sweet dark cherries as well, but very successful in a sunny style, at the limit of ripeness."

“The 2020 Beaune Coucherias 1er Cru contains 60% whole cluster with up to 35-40% new oak. Now, this has more delineation and purity compared to the Beaune Marconnets, black plum and just a touch of raspberry and iris petal. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, very smooth, maybe the new oak just a little vocal on the finish though that will be subsumed with time. Fine."
