The 2022 Domaine Eyverine offers red and black fruits, scrubby herbs, flowers, and pepper in a medium-bodied, juicy, and easygoing style. This blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre was vinified and aged 10 months in concrete.

"Grown organically in Cairanne, the 2022 from Domaine Eyverine delivers a deeply coloured, full‐bodied red with bold aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and a hint of spice. On the palate it’s rich and ripe, with smooth tannins, well integrated acidity, and plenty of length. There’s also an underpinning of herbal or garrigue character that keeps it grounded and adds complexity. It’s a wine with both punch and elegance, capable of pairing well with hearty dishes now, and showing even more nuance with some age."

Domaine Eyverine is a family-owned estate run by Caroline and Denis Monnier, who acquired the vineyards in 2008 from the former Domaine Hervé Rabasse. The domaine spans around 30 hectares, with 22 hectares in Cairanne, supplemented by holdings in Plan de Dieu and Côtes du Rhône. Since taking over, the Monniers have focused on producing organic, terroir-driven wines that showcase the character and elegance of the southern Rhône.

Where’s Cairanne? And what’s Cairanne? Glad, you asked. It’s one of the newest appellations in the southern Rhone, north of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, having been awarded in 2016 the same status as areas like Chateauneuf and Gigondas! It’s a real place, producing fabulous, distinctive wines that were once just plain old ‘Cotes du Rhone Villages’.
