Domaine Boutinot 'Les Coteaux' Côtes du Rhône Villages 2023
GOLD MEDAL: Mundus Vini
94 POINTS: Wine Direct Tasting Team
"Full, deep ruby with black-purple hues. Generous aromas of blackberry, plum, and boysenberry, layered with dark herbs, bergamot, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied, plush dark fruit is supported by supple tannins, a hint of smoked chocolate, and balanced acidity, finishing dry and satisfying. A rich, amiable Côtes du Rhône Villages."

Tucked away in the hills of the Cairanne village, Domaine Boutinot was established in 2010. Spread across 8 hectares, the vineyard features vines aging roughly 40 to 60 years, which rest on clay-limestone soils with rolled pebbles. The vineyard features 4 flagship grape varieties known to the region: Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan Noir, which achieved Cru status within Cairanne Appellation. Their philosophy centers on working naturally, they manually harvest their grapes and use natural yeast during fermentation.
