Canio Bianco Basilicata 2024
96 POINTS: Luca Maroni
95 POINTS: Wine Direct Tasting Team
4.5 STARS: Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
A blend of two classic southern grapes, Greco and Fiano, it’s gently pressed, cool-fermented to lock in fragrance, then rested briefly on its lees for extra texture. The result? Pale lemon in the glass, bursting with floral perfume, ripe fruit and a mouth-watering freshness that makes it effortlessly drinkable.
“It's finely fragrant on the nose, showing nectarine, lemongrass, crunchy apple, and white floral notes, followed by a brightly expressed palate offering elegant texture backed by zesty acidity, finishing crisp-dry and lingering.”
- Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
“A vibrant southern Italian white with lifted floral aromas, hints of citrus blossom and white fleshed fruit. On the palate it’s fresh and zesty with notes of white nectarine and lemon zest wrapped in a silky texture from brief lees ageing. Crisp, balanced and wonderfully drinkable – the perfect match for seafood, salads or simply enjoyed on its own.”

Nestled in the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture, Basilicata’s hidden gem, Canio is part of the Vigneti del Vulture co-op & blends tradition with modern expertise. Guided by consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini, the team crafts expressive whites from Greco and Fiano and elegant Aglianico reds that showcase the region’s unique volcanic soils and crisp, fresh climate. Small yields, careful vineyard management, and a focus on purity of fruit result in wines that are vibrant, balanced, and unmistakably Basilicata.
