To qualify for the Romulus blend the vineyards need to over 50 years of age and managed sustainably, the 2020 vintage was drawn from:
Shiraz 80+ year-old vineyard - Light Pass sub-region, Barossa Valley
"A deeply coloured shiraz from old vines in the Light Pass and Menglers Hill subregions, destemmed and matured in French oak (45% new) for 18 months. Blackberry, satsuma plum and red cherry fruit notes mesh with an array of fine spices and hints of pressed flowers, licorice, dark chocolate and earth. Lovely balance and fruit purity, with the pull of gentle sandy tannin and plenty of drive from the bright acidity. A great contemporary Barossa shiraz."
