Roc de Cambes Cotes de Bourg 2018
95 POINTS: Jeb Dunnuck
"Beautiful cassis and blackcurrant notes, as well as classy oak and tobacco, emerge from the 2018 Roc De Cambes. It's beautifully layered, textured, and deep on the palate, with fabulous tannin quality and length. Coming from the Cotes de Bourg, this brilliant wine will shine for two decades."

Acquired in 1988 by François Mitjavile, also of Tertre Roteboeuf fame, Roc de Cambes is situated in a natural amphitheater overlooking the Gironde River. The 12.5-hectare vineyard boasts old vines—many over 50 years—planted on clay-limestone soils, mirroring the terroir of Saint-Émilion. Mitjavile’s meticulous approach includes late harvesting for optimal ripeness, fermentation in concrete tanks, and aging in 50–60% new French oak barrels for 18–24 months.
