"On the nose, lifted aromas of white peach, Meyer lemon and sea spray are complemented by subtle floral undertones. The palate is bright and refreshing, with juicy stone fruit and citrus flavours, a fine line of acidity and a delicate saline edge. Lees ageing has added a subtle creamy texture and mid-palate weight, without compromising the wine’s crisp, mineral finish."
- Cory Ryan - Winemaker

We know our customers love aromatic varieties, so we’re excited to introduce you to a brilliant new single-vineyard Albariño from Gisborne. This vibrant Spanish white, which has taken the world by storm, is now thriving in New Zealand’s coastal vineyards. Bursting with citrus zest, saline freshness, and a hint of stone fruit, it’s the perfect seafood partner and a must-have for spring and summer drinking.

This is the inaugural release from Red Hut – a new collection of small-parcel, contemporary wines showcasing the excellence and diversity of New Zealand winemaking. Crafted under the direction of Wine Direct Hero Cory Ryan, the grapes for this Albariño come from Hexton Village, a rising-star sub-region of Gisborne. Here, warm days, cool nights, and a long growing season help retain acidity and build flavour complexity, while well-drained alluvial soils deliver vibrancy and precision.
