"An outstanding bouquet and palate, a wine of texture and power, delicious core fruit flavours that encompass red berries and dried herbs, lots of earthy and spice qualities, a lovely chew factor and length. Dry with firm tannins and plenty of acidity, the core fruit flavours of red cherry and currants, savoury dried herbs and wild red flowers bring balance and tautness, youthful and promise. Well made with best drinking from 2026 through 2033+."

"This pinot noir has a dense yet lush texture, plenty of fruit power, is concentrated yet finely balanced, all with good acidity, fine tannins and superb long finish. Perfumed with lovely aromatics, there is a range of complexed darker berry fruit notes, some spice, savoury tones and dried herbs."
- Duncan Forsyth, Winemaker
Founded in 1997 by Alan Brady, Mount Edward Winery sits at the foot of its namesake mountain in Gibbston, 25 km east of Queenstown, Central Otago. Originally a personal project to produce small quantities of premium Pinot Noir and Riesling that reflect the region’s soils and climate, the vineyards are organically farmed and BioGro certified.
In 2004, John Buchanan and Duncan Forsyth joined, sharing a passion for traditional, minimal-intervention winemaking using natural yeasts. Today, Mount Edward produces around 6,000 hand-crafted cases annually, with a small dedicated team focused on creating wines of the highest quality.
