In 2002, Jacques Coipel left the energy industry to pursue his passion for wine, purchasing vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône Villages cru of Valréas. Situated at around 1,200 feet above sea level, the estate’s clay, limestone and gravel soils, combined with cooling northern winds, provide the ideal conditions for wines with freshness, energy and clarity. The reds show vibrant red fruit and lift, while the whites offer crisp orchard fruit and natural vitality.

Jacques’ son Julien trained in Switzerland and New Zealand, including time at Te Mata, before returning home in 2010. Bringing a lighter, more precise approach to the cellar, Julien focuses on purity, freshness and transparency. Together, father and son craft expressive wines that capture the distinctive character of Valréas.
