A fresh, crunchy blended red with fruit from across Western Victoria. Lo-fi but hi-class wine from Owen Latta, that could sit happily in your fridge for a while.
The grapes are a licorice allsorts affair featuring Mataro, Grenache, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Lagrein, and Shiraz. But that's not really the point.
The point is its insane, fun drinkability aligned with the vinous quality that defines Latta's minimalist wines. Drink it quick and fun, maybe with a chill, though it is pretty cool in its own right.
We've been fans of their Syrah and Chardonnay for some time and this is another go-to product we'll add to the list.
Light in colour, but plenty of depth and flavour and pleasingly dry.
Highly recommended.
I haven’t tried every bottle in this selection yet, however, so far they are all very tasty. I’m a Chardonnay lover, always on the look out for a dryish not sweet wine and these are just right for me. An excellent mixed case and we’ll priced.
This was a very nice surprise in Wine Direct’s very welcome Plenty Under $20 category. Beautifully fruity, rich and smooth. Often the Plenty Under $20 range is a little light for the depth I like but I will definitely be reordering this one.
A great summer wine… elegant and a fine balance of lighter fruit and delicate acidity with a nice dry finish. Very drinkable with or without food. A nice change from our usual unoaked French Chardonnay
