Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune AC White 2020

92 POINTS: Neal Martin, Vinous

Varieties: 95% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Blanc
Size: 1.14 ha, Vine Age: 65 years (32%), 35 years (42%), and 25 years (26%) (as of 2021).

A blend of three parcels: Les Planchots (flatland, deep sandy soil), Les Vermots (limestone slope), and Les Goudelettes (limestone plateau).

Viticulture: Sustainable, Vinification: Directly pressed. Ambient yeast fermentation and aging for 10 months in barrels (25% new). Lightly filtered.

The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc has a pretty bouquet with honeysuckle and light white flower aromas, well defined with touches of tangerine in the background. The palate is well balanced, the 20% new oak nicely integrated with a touch of almond and white chocolate on the appealing finish. This is another delicious '20 from Pavelot.”
