Earlier this year, one of our buyers was enjoying a bit of R&R at the family gîte on the north Brittany coast. The plan? Pop down to the local wine warehouse and grab a couple of bottles for dinner. Simple, right?
Well… not quite. Turns out the warehouse was shutting up shop — thanks to ferry cancellations, Brexit hassles, and a sluggish local market. Our buyer spotted the opportunity of a lifetime. Out came the chequebook, some serious haggling ensued, and before you know it he’d secured a treasure trove of French wines. Mainly from the sun-kissed South of France but there is a stunning Vouvray & White Burgundy in the mix.
