Robert Weil Klosterberg Riesling Trocken 2021
93 POINTS: Stuart Pigott, James Suckling.com
92 POINTS: Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
“The 2021 Kiedrich Klosterberg Riesling Trocken is based on macerated fruit (6-18 hours) that was fermented spontaneously in 100% large oak vats. The wine was never racked, except for the bottling in late June. Full-bodied, rich and powerful yet elegant and balanced on the palate, this is a relatively smooth and saline, pretty long and crystalline Riesling with fine tannin grip and a long, aromatic finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2022.”
- Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
“Seriously complex nose with a slew of stone fruit aromas with touches of candied and preserved lemon. A slew of cool minerality is packed into this wine’s sleek silhouette and the racy acidity drives this across the palate at a brisk clip. Wonderful herbal freshness at the long, tightly wound finish. Drink or hold.”
