5 STARS: Recommended, Wine Direct
100% Barbera, Vine Age: 75 years
Old-vine Barbera made from a tiny one-hectare plot on the Arborina hillside. Aged in new French barrique for 18 months.
"Larigi is easily one of the world’s great wines."
— Antonio Galloni - Vinous Media
"In our opinion this is the greatest old vine Barbera made in Piedmont today and comes highly recommended. After sampling through some older library stock recently we were amazed at the balance of fruit weight and tannin in addition to it's freshness and finesse. Pop a bottle or two away for 5 years or so and enjoy Barbera at it's very best!"

"The 2020 Larigi is deep and fleshy, with terrific depth and tons of nuance. Super-ripe dark cherry, red plum, mocha, spice, new leather and lavender infuse the 2020 with gorgeous textural depth. Plush and energetic, the 2020 offers terrific balance, with less opulence and a bit more energy than some previous editions. It's a style I admire quite a bit. Sadly, there are just three barrels to go around."

"As Larigi ages, it takes on a surprising level of complexity in its aromas and flavors, and the 100% new French oak becomes virtually undetectable, especially in the very finest vintages."
