“Offering up aromas of cassis, plums and loamy soil, the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, rich and sapid, with an ample core of fruit and ripe, powdery tannins. It's the deepest-pitched wine in the range.”

“The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes was affected by hydric stress and so was picked later on 5 September and also de-stemmed more than usual (85%). It comes from three plots in different climats. It actually works well on the nose with pure blackcurrant, raspberry and violet scents on the nose. The palate is sweet and ripe on the entry with crunched redcurrant and cranberry fruit, quite Morey-like in style, with fine substance on the finish. Though the Edouard Labet clearly rued having had to de-stem, it greatly enhances this Gevrey.”

“Once again, a very toasty yet very fresh nose reveals its aromas of red currant, violet, earth and poached plum. I very much like the mouthfeel and vibrancy of the middle weight flavors that are not particularly dense but do offer a lilting texture and good detail on the lightly austere finale. This should be approachable on the younger side if desired.”
