80-85% Grenache, 10-15% Cinsault, 2% Syrah from galet stone covered soils on La Lionne at Sorgues, destemmed, concrete vat raised 4-5 months, unfiltered

Latin for "Happy is the man", Beatus Ille is a 9 acre plot just a short distance from Châteauneuf du Pape and less than a mile from Saint Prefert. 

Brilliant ruby-red. Fresh and energetic on the nose, displaying intense red fruit preserve and floral scents and a suggestion of white pepper. Juicy and supple on the palate, offering sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and a refreshingly bitter blood orange nuance. Fine grained tannins build slowly through a long, sappy finish that leaves behind a suave lavender note.

"Easy-going, soft and drinkable, this is a well-balanced and fresh wine. A high-quality wine of impressive intensity and concentration. It’s very tannic, so give this time to settle, but not too long. The acidity is quite sharp, but it does help to balance the wine's innate richness. Grown on red clay and galets, with six months ageing in concrete."
