Chateau Saint-Roch, Cote du Roussillon Le Rosé 2022

90 POINTS: Robert Parker's - The Wine Advocate
93+ POINTS: Wine Direct Tasting Team

"Another lovely Southern French Rosé that is calling out for a BBQ and some mates! Choke full of floral aromas and delicate strawberry flavors. With a lively acidity but a decadent richness of fruit, this wine tastes like summer in a glass!"
- Wine Direct Tasting Team

"Instantly brilliant in the glass, the 2022 Le Rosé from Saint-Roch derives from old vines planted in the Agly Valley on schist and loam soils. It reveals aromas of lemon, peach, flowers, red berries and spring flowers, followed by lively acidity, a seamless and juicy texture, a medium-bodied palate and a fresh, penetrating finish. This is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah."

Near the southern border of Spain, The town of Maury is in the department of Pyrénées-Orientales of the French region Languedoc-Roussillon. The Lafage family has been growing grapes and making wines in the Roussillon since 1798. Returning to his roots, Jean-Marc purchased Château Saint-Roch in Maury in 2005. Situated in the Agly Valley in Rousillon, Château St-Roch holds 44 hectares of vines, some of which are more than 50 years old. In the decade proceeding the purchase, Jean-Marc has restored and rejuvenated the cellars and vineyards. Using the existing historical buildings, he has constructed a modern winery; stainless steel fermenters have been installed and wines are now fermented and aged on site.
