98 POINTS: Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck
97 POINTS: Antonio Galloni, Vinous
The Sorì Tildin vineyard is situated in the municipality of Barbaresco, on top of a hill where below sits the Costa Russi vineyard. The land, facing south, consists of clay-calcareous marls and covers a surface of 3.38 hectares, with an average altitude of 260 m above the sea level. The vines are 45 years old on average.
“A lively and fragrant sensation with a beautiful expression of fruit coming from this cru. The nose shows a range of beautiful sensations from violets, plums, savoury, herbal notes, wild roses, black pepper, and black cherry. Balanced and fruity, with notes of orange and blackberry. The palate is creamy and complex. Sweet, full, integrated tannins, clean and expressive.”

“The 2020 Barbaresco Sorì Tildin is a powerful, deep wine. Dark fruit, leather, spice, tobacco and incense saturate the palate. A Barbaresco of stature and brooding intensity, Sorì Tildin will need a number of years to be at its very best. The 2020 is an unusually somber, dark Sorì Tildin.”

“Such wonderful clarity and perfume to this with strawberry and candied citrus, yet it’s always so subtle and vivid. Full-bodied and very powerful with lots of well integrated tannins. Makes you stand to attention and notice it. Give this six or seven years of bottle age. Try after 2030.”
“The 2020 Sori Tildin is expansive in its aromatics of red fruits, wild herbs, pressed roses, and wild raspberry. It has more iron richness throughout the palate, with a touch of game, red cherry, and forest floor. A more solar wine, with ripe tannins and a bit more modesty in its acidity, it is mouthwatering and will benefit from more time in bottle as well.”
