Named for the medieval church, Chiesa Santa Restituta, found at the centre of the pieve (or parish), this wine has been in production for over two decades and even though it's from Gaja's younger vineyards, it's now considered amongst the very best there is in Tuscany.

“Deep, dark ruby red. Wonderfully accentuated bouquet of wild cherries, rose petals and violets. Silky and smooth on the palate, with remarkable vitality. The proportions of fruit, acidity and tannin are well balanced, complemented by exciting notes of licorice and aromatic herbs. Medium-long and very balanced finish. This Brunello ideally represents the exceptional vintage and will certainly continue to grow in the years to come.”

“Bright ruby. Lovely red fruit nose with a dark earthy note and a hint of oak. Cool climate character. Elegant and succulent, with fine, enveloping tannins; more direct than the Rennina of the same vintage. Will improve with more bottle age, although already very attractive.”
