Carménère is the flag-bearer of Chile, although much of it was originally imported and grown under the assumption it was Merlot! It needs to ripen late, allowing a strong chocolate and mocha aroma to overlay the deep blackberry and blueberry fruit – otherwise a distinct, though not unattractive, green pepper flavour can dominate. Good in a blend too and copes with higher alcohol levels in big wines.

I have enjoyed these wines very much - in particular I liked the Belle Vignes which was rich and very flavoursome
The Cabra Cega was a particularly easy drinking quaffing wine.
Still have another 2 bottles left to sample

Great
Great selection, great taste, great value, fast delivery
Quality is consistent. Deeper bouquet and flavor than most Cali Zins. The Earth tones come thru beautifully about two years from Vintage. Wonderful
Red to contemplate on its own or with good food.
